Edelman Smithfield appoints Mario Groß as new Head of D/A/CH 

Frankfurt, 1 July 2024 - Edelman Smithfield, Specialized financial communications boutique with the reach and resources of the world’s leading communications firm, has appointed Mario Groß as the new Head of the Germany/Austria/Switzerland (D/A/CH) region. 

Alex Simmons, who is responsible for the EMEA business at Edelman Smithfield, comments: "As we continue to invest in our EMEA business, I’m delighted to welcome Mario to the team. The DACH market is an important growth opportunity for us, with a strong financial services sector, and active public and private markets. Mario  brings many years of experience and numerous awards as an investment banker and consultant, and  has a successful track record leading investor and public relations campaigns as well as advising  companies on managing crisis and issues. 

Christiane Schulz heads Edelman's German business and adds: "With Mario Groß, we will expand and develop our already very successful and established business, deepening our expertise in the capital markets and financial services. We have the necessary global presence, sector expertise and experience to tap into new client groups."

Mario Groß, who completed a traineeship at the Georg-von-Holtzbrinck School for Business Journalism at the Handelsblatt publishing group, headed the "Corporate Broking / Corporate Access Germany and Austria" division at HSBC for more than a decade and was voted number one by institutional investors in the renowned Extel Ranking (today: Institutional Investor Ranking) five times in a row during this time. He then switched to the corporate side and was responsible for IR and PR at Corestate and the Adler Group. Over the past two years, he has built up and expanded the Frankfurt office of Kirchhoff Consult AG.  He is a qualified CIRO and CEFA/CIIA analyst.
